A different kind of portal

How is 26T1 Portal different from the client portal in your CRM?

Most tax firms already have a CRM or practice-management platform. We are not asking you to replace it. We give your clients a better front end while your employees keep working in the systems they already know.

The typical CRM portal

Technically available. Rarely something you want to put at the center of your client experience.

Generic screens tied to CRM limitationsHard to customize around your actual workflowMultiple external tools and links still requiredClient status is usually an afterthoughtBuilt around database objects, not taxpayer behavior

26T1 Portal

A dedicated client experience layer designed specifically around tax servicing.

CRM-connected by design

Put a modern client experience on top of the CRM you already use.

26T1 Portal is designed around a connector layer. Where a CRM exposes sufficient API access, we can synchronize client, case, task, document, status, and workflow data instead of rebuilding the firm's internal system.

How much of the portal can your firm configure?

Different firms run different processes. Choose which blocks clients see, when they appear, and which case conditions control them. A resolution client can see a completely different experience from a tax-prep client.

Mobile-first client experience

Can clients use 26T1 Portal on their phone?

Most client actions should not require a desktop computer. 26T1 Portal is designed for mobile web first, with a dedicated mobile app path for messages, documents, signatures, organizers, notifications, and case updates.

Does 26T1 Portal replace your CRM?

Your CRM remains the internal system of record. 26T1 normalizes the data required by the portal and synchronizes client actions back to your operational systems.

The business outcome

What does a better client portal change for your staff?

When clients can understand their case, see what is missing, complete requests, and communicate in one place, your staff spends less time chasing documents, explaining status, copying information, and reconciling multiple systems.

Less client chasing
Higher completion rates
Fewer “what do you need?” calls
Cleaner CRM handoffs
More consistent client experience
More time for actual tax work

How does a 26T1 Portal deployment start?

Early deployments will be integration-led: connect the firm's CRM, map the client and case data, configure the portal experience, and launch under the firm's branding. As connector patterns mature, 26T1 can turn common CRM integrations into faster, semi-packaged deployments.

Questions

Common questions from tax professionals.

Can I add a client portal without replacing my tax CRM?

26T1 Portal sits on top of the CRM a firm already uses instead of replacing it. The CRM remains the internal system of record; 26T1 normalizes the data the portal requires and synchronizes client actions back to the firm's operational systems. Staff keep working in the systems they already know, while clients get a separate branded front end for messaging, documents, organizers, balances, tasks, and case status.

Does 26T1 Portal integrate with IRSLogics?

IRSLogics is the first 26T1 Portal connector and the current integration path. 26T1 Portal is designed around a connector layer: where a CRM exposes sufficient API access, client, case, task, document, status, and workflow data can be synchronized instead of rebuilt. Salesforce and Karbon are on the connector roadmap. Canopy and PitBullTax are API-dependent, since connector depth follows the objects their APIs expose. Other platforms with an API can be evaluated.

Can clients review and sign Form 8821 or 2848 in the portal?

26T1 Portal includes an IRS authorizations block covering client verification, 8821/2848 review, signature, and next-step workflows. It sits in the same portal as documents, organizers, messages, and case status, because the portal is meant to be the client-facing home for everything a taxpayer needs to do during preparation, investigation, and resolution. 26T1 is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Internal Revenue Service.

Can I white-label a client portal under my firm's brand and domain?

26T1 Portal is fully white-labeled to the firm: your logo, colors and domain, a custom home screen, and firm-specific terminology. Clients see the firm's brand rather than 26T1. Beyond branding, the portal supports custom pages, blocks, workflows and rules, so the client experience follows how the firm actually services cases instead of what a CRM's built-in portal allows.

Can tax-prep clients and resolution clients see different portal screens?

26T1 Portal can show a different experience to each type of client. The firm chooses which blocks clients see, when they appear, and which case conditions control them, so a resolution client can see a completely different experience from a tax-prep client. Rules can be set by service or case stage, and role-based client experiences are supported, so one portal covers preparation, investigation, and resolution work.
